2013-2014 Online Scholarship

Application Information

 

 

The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation offers many and various ways for you to acquire a post-secondary education. Some Scholarships are designated for graduating seniors of certain schools. Others are awarded for specific fields such as nursing or law. Numerous Foundation Scholarships are based on financial need and not academic achievement, but all applicants must complete a current on-line application and submit it within the indicated time frame in order to be eligible for review.

 

For the 2012-2013 academic year a total of $481,350.00 was awarded to 410 West Virginia students. The Foundation’s scholarship program enriches many lives by providing student with the opportunity, which they might not otherwise have, to further their education. Each year, numerous Foundation contributors and dedicated volunteers make this possible.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

Each scholarship fund has specific eligibility criteria that were defined by the donor when the fund was established. Please read through the specific criteria to see if you are eligible for any of the funds.

 

 General criteria that applies to most scholarships are as follows:

· must be a resident of West Virginia with the exception of (The Kid’s Chance Scholarship)

· must be a full time student (minimum of 12 Credit Hours)

· must demonstrate academic achievement (at least a 2.5 GPA)

· minimum score of 20 on the ACT

· must demonstrate good moral character

 

Online Scholarship Application Deadline

  January 15th of each year.

 

All online applications are due by 5:00 pm EST on or before the application deadline. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
