Anna Holstein

I would first like to thank the Pritt Family, as well as The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation for the tremendous support they have given me to complete my first semester of college at Marshall University. Their scholarship has been a key part in my success thus far. My family and I have been able to focus on the things that will benefit me moving forward academically, athletically, and socially because we haven’t had to stress the financial burdens that come with going to a university. While cheering at Marshall, the practices, games, weight training, and public appearances take up a lot of my time, making it difficult to have a consistent work schedule, so with the support of this foundation, along with a couple others, I can be the best version of myself in athletics and academics. I would like to extend my thank you to my family, previous educators, and community for providing me with the resources and opportunities that assisted me in receiving this scholarship. Without my education and opportunities given by staff at Logan High School and the community of Logan to complete services, I couldn’t have met the criteria to receive this support. With that being said, my main message to everyone who’s reading would be to take every opportunity you’re given; always overachieve when it comes to grades and always take the opportunity to help others, because I believe acts of service work in full circle. To close, I would like to share with you all one of my favorite quotes regarding acts of service by Dieter F. Uchtdorf:

“Often small acts of service are all that is required to lift and bless another.”

Thank you all.
