Scholarship Application is Available

September 1 – November 1
The Bridge of Hope Scholarship Fund provides an opportunity for persons in recovery from a Substance Use Disorder to pursue a postsecondary or vocational education.
This scholarship is applicable to those who live in all West Virginia counties, Ohio counties of Jackson, Gallia, Pike, Athens, Vinton, Hocking, Meigs, Lawrence, and Scioto as well as Boyd and Carter counties of Kentucky.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be in recovery from addiction
- Have completed a recovery program and demonstrate good standing in regards to the recovery program’s after care requirements
- Actively participate in a mutual aid group or alternative peer support group.
Each application will be reviewed on an individual basis to determine merit.

Process
Applications will be accepted from March 1– May 15 and September 1 – November 1
Applications must be submitted via The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation’s online application system
The Bridge of Hope Committee will review applications, make scholarship funding recommendations, and announce awards by letter no later than June 22 and November 22, respectively
Checks will be mailed directly to the education institution.
